I Say Prayers...

I say prayers.
Some say there is only one God
I say prayers.
Some say "God bless America!"
I say prayers
Some say God bless this planet
I bear witness
That some say
Mohammad is prophet and
Jesus is the first born and
God has chosen all of us
As his people
I say prayers.
I am a New Yorker, I am a New Yorker
I say prayers for New Yorkers
And the world over,
I say prayers
For divine nation tribes on street corners
Through the village
I say prayers
For forgiveness, please face faces pasted
On walls and lampposts
Are now lost to us
I say prayers, please redeemer
And dust dusts us,
We are running
And we are scared
I say prayers on the streets, here
I say prayers
That the Empire State
Will not crumble
My lip trembles
Woe! Woe! I say prayers
One human dignity, one human worth
I pray, say prayers, tears
Make up the Hudson River
It's a sad fact that keeps us crying
The Lord is great
The righteous reverence
Will visit New York,
Us with a prayer
In the terror of this hour
That justice be done
And dust to dust
And by whose power,
I say prayers
Let your light show to others
So that they may see your good works
Take hands with strangers
And create unity... listen
Still stands the statue of liberty
And we, the masses huddled,
Pray to be free
See a torch light still standing
I say prayers.
Together we are strong
God, bless America,
Together we shall overcome
I say prayers...

In the beginning...

I am learning how to set up this blog, and to post my work.
